They entertained us thoroughly in Yamla Pagla Deewana earlier this year and now the trio of Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol will once again be seen together on the big screen in Anil Sharma's 3D extravaganza Masters. It may be recalled that Anil had earlier directed the trio in the 2007 flick Apne.

Masters will be an action flick and will see the trio playing con-men. Shooting of the film is expected to begin by the end of this year and the film will be shot at various locations of Mumbai, London and even USA.

RAHUL RAWAIL TO DIRECT GHAYAL RETURNS FOR VIJAYTA FILMS

Sunny Deol, who is planning to revive his home banner Vijayta Films with Ghayal Returns, has roped in his good friend Rahul Rawail to direct the film. Ghayal Returns is the sequel to Sunny's 1990 blockbuster Ghayal, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

Earlier Ashwini Chaudhary was to direct the film, in fact a teaser promo of the film was also released with Salman Khan's Ready. But Sunny had a change of heart and asked Rahul to helm the project. Ghayal Returns will mark Rawail's return to Vijayta Films after 28 long years, he had earlier directed Betaab in 1983, which was incidentally the first film produced by the banner.

Sources say that Chaudhary's ouster is because he got busy with another film and didn't have time for Ghayal Returns, which was to go on floors this month.

Sunny and Rawail go back a long way. They have always kept in touch and both have very high regard for each other. Sunny finalised on his Betaab director in a meeting, yesterday afternoon. Rawail dropped by Sunny's office to wish the actor on his birthday and ended up chatting for two long hours. Rahul was in for a pleasant surprise when Sunny asked him to direct Ghayal Returns and was very happy with the offer as it just showed how much Sunny still trusts him.

The script of the film is ready and it has worked out very well. Along with Ghayal Returns, Vijayta Films will also be producing the Yamla Pagla Deewana sequel.

Sunny a finalisé son réalisateur de Betaab lors d'une réunion hier après-midi. Rawail est passé par le bureau de Sunny pour lui souhaiter son anniversaire et ils ont finalement bavardé pendant deux longues heures. Ce fut une agréable surprise pour Rahul lorsque Sunny lui a demandé de réaliser "Ghayal Returns" et il était très content de la proposition car cela montre bien combien Sunny a toujours confiance en lui.

Le script du film est prêt et il fonctionne très bien. En plus de Ghayal Returns, Vijayta Films produira aussi la suite de Yamla Pagla Deewana.

SUNNY IS "SINGH SAHAB THE GREAT"

The Anil Sharma - Sunny Deol combo, which created magic with GADAR, has teamed up yet again. The film-maker, who delivered a success in APNE in the intervening period, is planning an entertainer with Sunny in the lead and it's called SINGH SAHAB THE GREAT. "The film with Deols [Dharmendra, Sunny, Bobby], an entirely different project, will commence later," Sharma clarifies at the very outset, "SINGH SAHAB THE GREAT is with Sunny alone."

The film-maker has signed the writer of GADAR, Shaktimaan, to pen the screenplay of SINGH SAHAB THE GREAT. "It took me two years to lock this amazing script. In fact, I wish to state that it will be a landmark film in my career, like HUKUMAT and GADAR were," Sharma beams confidently. He plans to begin filming SINGH SAHAB THE GREAT in a few months from now.

Now, in their latest film PLAYERS, Bobby Deol plays a role he has never done before.
Bobby Deol plays a magician, who abruptly leaves his career when he's at his peak, and starts hating the very word magic.
In a brief chat with Sonil Dedhia, Bobby Deol explains why he repeatedly works with Abbas-Mustan, why criticism doesn't bother him, and his feelings about remakes of his father Dharmendra's films.

This is your fifth film with Abbas-Mustan. You obviously feel comfortable working with them?
Yes, there is a sense of comfort working with Abbas-Mustan. They treat me like their younger brother. I am very close to them. We share an amazing bond and we know what we want from each other, which makes it easier on the sets.
We started 13 years ago and we have had a great time working together ever since.

Would you agree to act in their film without even reading the script?
I just love to work with them. They make excellent movies and I would love to work with them in every film they make.

Players is the official remake of The Italian Job. How true is it to the original?
I have seen both versions of The Italian Job and loved both of them. I am glad that we have officially taken the rights and made it in India.
Players is completely different from the original. Even though the story is the same, Abbas-Mustan have given it their own magic touch. They have made it look even better and I am happy to be a part of it.

It's a remake but you personally don't subscribe to remakes...
No, it's not that. Remakes are happening for a long time and it is happening in the West too. I don't believe anything is wrong in that. It is just that it should be made in a certain manner.

But you were quoted as saying that you would not like your father's (Dharmendra) films to be remade.
The only reason I say that is because I don't think anyone can make it better than what they were.
Also, they are my father's films so there is a personal association and I am very close to it.
I would love to work and remake my father's film if someone would do a better job.

How do you take criticism?
I don't get tense and serious or even nervous if my film doesn't work. Criticism doesn't really affect me. I just make the point that I can work with directors who are making a good film with a good subject.

Do you regret any career move you may have made?
No, I don't have regrets.

How do your kids react when they see you on screen?
I look at my father as a father first and then as an actor. Similarly my kids love me as a father first and then as an actor.

Do your kids accompany you to your shoots?
I would accompany my father to his shoots but I don't take my kids for shooting. Times have changed and there is a lot of chaos on the sets. They are still too young to understand.

What next?
We are currently working on YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA 2 and I also have a couple of other projects in hand.

Accepteriez-vous de jouer dans leur film sans même lire le scénario ?
J'aime tout simplement travailler avec eux. Ils font d'excellents films et j'aimerais travailler avec eux dans chaque film qu'ils font.

Players est le remake official de "The Italian Job". Est-il fidèle à l'original ?
J'ai vu les deux versions de "The Italian Job" et je les ai aimées toutes les deux. Je suis heureux que nous ayons officiellement acquis les droits pour le faire en Inde.
Players est complètement différent de l'original. Même si l'histoire est la même, Abbas-Mustan lui ont donné leur propre touche de magie. Ils l'ont rendu encore meilleur et je suis heureux d'en faire partie.

C'est un remake mais, personnellement, vous ne souscrivez pas aux remakes...
Non, ce n'est pas ça. Les remakes existent depuis longtemps et ça existe aussi en Occident. Je ne crois pas qu'il y ait quelque chose de mal à cela. C'est simplement que cela doit être fait d'une certaine manière.

Mais vous avez été cité disant que vous n'aimeriez pas que l'on refasse les films de votre père Dharmendra ?
La seule raison pour laquelle j'ai dit cela, c'est parce que je ne pense pas que quelqu'un puisse les rendre meilleurs que ce qu'ils étaient.
De plus, ce sont les films de mon père et donc il y a une association personnelle et ils me sont chers.
J'aimerais travailler et faire un remake d'un film de mon père si quelqu'un pouvait faire un meilleur travail.

Comment prenez-vous la critique ?
Je ne suis pas tendu ni sérieux ou même nerveux si mon film ne marche pas. La critique ne m'affecte pas vraiment. Je souligne seulement que je peux travailler avec des réalisateurs qui font un bon film avec un bon sujet.

Y a-t-il une décision que vous regrettez concernant votre carrière ?
Non, je n'ai aucun regret.

Comment réagissent vos enfants lorsqu'ils vous voient à l'écran ?
Je regarde mon père d'abord comme un père, ensuite comme un acteur. De la même façon, mes enfants m'aiment d'abord en tant que père, ensuite en tant qu'acteur.

Vos enfants vous accompagnent-ils sur vos tournages ?
J'accompagnais mon père sur ses tournages mais je ne prends pas mes enfants lorsque je tourne. Les temps ont changé et il y a beaucoup de chaos sur les plateaux. Ils sont encore trop jeunes pour comprendre.

Et ensuite ?
Nous travaillons actuellement sur YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA 2 et j'ai aussi quelques autres projets en main.

DHARMENDRA, SHABANA AZMI, MIRA NAIR TO RECEIVE PADMA BHUSHAN AWARD

The President of India announced the list of winners selected this year for the most honourable Padma Awards-2012. Padma Awards, the country's highest civilian awards, are conferred in three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The Awards are given in all disciplines/ fields of activities, viz. art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc.

Among the list of winners this year are actors Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra and filmmaker Mira Nair who will be conferred with the Padma Bhushan award. Besides singer Anup Jalota and filmmaker Priyadarshan have been selected for the Padma Shri award.

After working in close to 100 films in a three decade long career, Sunny Deol has finally turned into an actor. Well, don't be alarmed as it is for a part to be played on screen actually. Though he has played a cop, gangster, businessman, sportsperson or an obedient son/protective brother in dozens of films, being an on-screen actor is something that had been missing from his repertoire. However now this would be finally happening in BHAIYYAJI SUPERHIT which is all set to go on floors next week.

"Yes, Sunny paaji is turning into an actor for this action comedy. In fact he is playing a Punjabi from Canada who wants to be an actor and his long due dream finally comes true. Since he is playing his age in BHAIYYAJI SUPERHIT, one can well imagine how Sunny would be approaching his role of a wannabe actor waiting for a right opportunity since decades. It is a hilarious part and his fans would end up seeing a new him", says a close associate of the actor.

This means that for all his fans and followers, his double role act in the film is doing the trick. A propos de ce look typique, Sunny dit : "Je joue ce Don basé en Uttar Pradesh. C'est pourquoi il est appelé bhaiyyaji. La productrice Fauzia Arshi dit : "Ce qui différencie mon film, c'est que ce n'est pas une comédie absurde. Il comporte un message social. A travers l'histoire, il y a quelque chose à apprendre. SANGEETH SIVAN TO DIRECT YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA 2

The sequel to 2011's super hit comedy Yamla Pagla Deewana starring the Deols is all set to go on floors this year, but instead of Samir Karnik, the sequel will be directed by Sangeeth Sivan.

Sangeeth Sivan has earlier worked with Sunny Deol in Zor and Bobby in Ek-The Power Of One, so when he was asked by the Deols if he would be interested in doing the sequel to Yamla Pagla Deewana, Sivan immediately agreed. The sequel will retain the old characters but will have a completely different story.

Apart from Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, Sangeeth is also working with Bobby and Dharamendra in film called Cheers, which is a beautiful story of a father and son. Cheers will go on floors after Yamla Pagla Deewana is complete.

NEHA SHARMA - KRISTINA AKHEEVA IN YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA SEQUEL

Both female leads in the sequel to Yamla Pagla Deewana would be new girls and not the ones you saw in the prequel.

The Deols are all set to come together once again in the sequel to Yamla Pagla Deewana that goes on floors next month. But who would be paired opposite the male leads Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol this time around ?

There have been speculations about the leading ladies of YPD2 but we have finally got the official confirmations. None of the female leads from the prequel will be repeated in the sequel. The makers have opted for new girls.

"Neha Sharma will be starring opposite Bobby Deol", says a source closely associated with the film. Neha was last seen in Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum. As for the girl opposite Sunny Deol its International model from Australia, Kristina Akheeva. "She has worked for innumerable hi-profile brands and campaigns all over the world", adds the source.

The shoot for YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA 2 is about to begin in UK from the second week of September 2012.
